It's been a while. Too long, again....and I want to share some pictures. :) Here goes.
So this one is from a lovely Sunday afternoon Antiquing in Snohomish. This is a quite typical display in any of the stores. Although many have a quite impressive store of beautifully refurnished furniture, and some have exemplary depression glass and other goodies, a lot of the stores boast shelves full of old toys and the like that I never could've guessed would make money. One store even had a collection of Pez dispensers (with candy!) which looked ancient. I just can't understand why someone would actually choose to spend $5-8 on a Pez dispenser!! ?!?!
Up next...here they are...two of the most beautiful, wonderful people I know. Katie and Ann flew all the way from Chicago (and brought with them a beautiful, unheard of, sunny weekend)! We put the days to good use...from Alki to Ballard to the U District to Cap Hill to the Skagit Valley (see next!) to Snoqualmie Falls to Bainbridge Island...whew! It was a whirlwind, and in that very same weekend, I packed up all my stuff and moved to Spokane for my Cardiology rotation. Between Katie, Ann, my parents, and myself, we loaded the UHaul truck in just a smidge over one hour!! It was an impressive job, if I do say so myself. I am so thankful to have had such a fabulous last weekend in Seattle.
And here we are, the whole gang (including Mom and Dad) in "Tulip Town." This picture, I admit, is a little disappointing for its collection of random strangers in the background...but I hope you can get the sense of the brilliance of color in that bluebird sky with those majestic mountains in the background. The five of us were swooning all day at the scenery...I couldn't have imagined a better way to spend an afternoon!
Afterwards we drove up to Bow, WA to the Oyster Bar as suggested by one of the excellent UW Pathology residents and had an incredible dinner in this little old restaurant right on a cliff over the Samish Bay. Amazing, perfect, wondrous day in the Northwest.
And now it's back to Spokane. I was welcomed home by my little cousins, including Shelby (pictured), with a Peep cake (they know what I love). It's lovely to be back here, although I do miss Seattle quite a bit...especially certain parts. I have been dancing twice though, and it wasn't half bad. :) And now...the snow's already beginning to fly! They're predicting 3-5 inches... yikes.
